Betty Lowery Dudley

Fort Mill – Mrs. Betty Lowery Dudley, 88, died Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Glen Rock Baptist Church.  A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm at the Church with Rev. Gene Flack officiating.

A native of Henrietta, NC, Mrs. Dudley was a daughter of the late Virgil Lee Lowery and Myrtle Padgett Lowery.  She was a founding member of Sisk Memorial Baptist Church when the church transitioned from Second Baptist Church.  She enjoyed spending time at Sisk Memorial Baptist working with the quilters of the church.  She taught Sunday School and Mission Friends.   She also volunteered at the clothing ministry of the church.   She was a member of the Rag-A-Muffins and the quilters guild in Rock Hill, SC.  She volunteered with Agape Hospice where she sewed the labels into the prayer shawls that were given to the families.

She is survived by her three children, Leonard “Pecon” Dudley, Kathryn “Boo” Dudley (Nina), and Gloria Jeannie “Baby” Dudley Baker Rowe (Danny); a brother, Jerry “Cotton” Lowery (Judy); four grandchildren, Brandon Baker (Michael), William Baker (Brandi), Sean Murdy, and Christian Dudley; four great-grandchildren, Leah Wood, Rockell Baker, Raiden Hafner, and Sierra Baker.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Conley Leonard Dudley; two brothers, Jimmy Lowery and Johnny Lowery; a sister, Jolene McCameron.

The family would like for people who attend the memorial service to bring children’s books and can food that will be donated to the Children’s Attention Home, Rock Hill, SC.
