Rock Hill - Mr. Adam Valent, 85, of 654 Rockwood Drive, died Monday, October 10, 2016, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at Whitesell Funeral Home and the family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park - Cherry Road.
Mr. Valent was a son of the late Adam Valent, Sr. and Erza Valent.
He was a godly man who always put God first and was an inspiration to those whose lives he touched. He supported Vida in her various ministries, wholeheartedly. He was a hardworking, loving and faithful husband to the "love of his life" and a dedicated father and incredible role model to his 3 daughters and 12 grandchildren.
Adam was born on July 15, 1931 and grew up in a small town in Yugoslavia, now known as "Former Yugoslavia". He married Vidosava (Vida) Dzunic on May 5,1962. They welcomed their first daughter, Lydia, in 1963 and another daughter, Mary, in 1967. Shortly after she was born Adam became determined to give his girls a better life in America.
He moved to Paris, France ahead of the family to get settled in and six months later Vida and the girls joined him. In December 1969 their family landed at Kennedy Airport, NY, to start their new life in their new home. Then in 1973 they had their 3rd daughter, Anna. A few years ago, Adam and Vida had gained a special friend who they have adopted into their hearts like a son, Kyle Rogers. Adam and Kyle have spent a lot of time recently, talking about heaven, where he now resides.
He will be lovingly missed by all. His memory and prayers will live on in the lives of those whom he loved dearly.
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever."
Psalms 23:6
