Alan Thomas Reinig

April 28, 1952 — April 28, 2024

Fort Mill, SC

Alan Thomas Reinig, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on his 72nd birthday, surrounded by family following a courageous nine-year battle with cancer.

He was born to Lester and Wilma Reinig on April 28th, 1952. He grew up in Arizona and graduated from McClintock High School in Tempe in 1970. He attended Arizona State University before pursuing his dream of flying as an airline pilot.

Alan's love for his family was unparalleled. His dear wife, Graciela Reinig, was his rock, and together they shared a lifetime of cherished memories and unwavering love. He was a devoted father to his son Alex (Casey) Reinig and his daughter Michelle (Bradley) Ayer. But it was his role as 'Tata' to his grandchildren that truly brought him joy. Tyler, Liliana, Ethan, Anthony, Andrew, and Alessandra were his pride and joy, and his influence will continue to shape their lives.

Alan was a man of many passions, and his zest for life was truly contagious. His infectious smile lit up every room he entered. He was an advocate for the environment and had a deep love for the mountains of Arizona. He found joy in the rhythm of rock 'n' roll, the energy of salsa dancing, and the warmth of a good tequila. His party trick was his ability to do headstands anywhere and everywhere, a testament to his playful spirit and love for adventure.

Alan most enjoyed spending time with his wife, working in his garden, playing his guitar, or building his boat.

Alan's absence will be deeply felt, but his legacy of courage, love, and appreciation for life will continue to inspire us all. May his memory remind us to embrace each day with gratitude and compassion. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the beauty and tranquility he cherished during his time on Earth.
