Alexander Collins Herrington

Alexander Collins Herrington, 30, of Charlotte, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 21st. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, December 2, 1986 to Joan Fairand Phalen and Randall Herrington.

He graduated in 2009 from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill for Graphic Design. He worked for 8 years at Sterigenics in Haw River and Charlotte, NC.

Alex was a talented artist in both digital and hand-drawn work. He was an avid sports fan, especially football. He loved playing corn hole and video games with his friends and family. He was a caring partner, son, brother, and friend who would do anything to make you smile and laugh. And he was always up for one more game.

Alex was predeceased by his grandfather Barry Fairand. He is survived by grandparents Jeannie Fairand, Patty Herrington, Dale Herrington, parents Joan Phalen, Randall Herrington, brother Taylor Herrington, fiancee Stephanie Wendel, future in-laws Cathy Wendel, John Wendel, Daniel Wendel and all his aunts, uncles, cousins, loved ones and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1pm, Friday, October 27th, at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Receptions for Research, https://donate.receptionsforresearch.org/, a charity organization founded by Panthers' football player Greg Olsen.
