Alice Faye Steele

Alice ‘Faye” Steele 70, Rock Hill SC, peacefully departed this life August 17, 2023 inside her long-term home.

“Faye” was born August 11, 1953 in Fort Mill SC to James Barber and Maggie Mae Strait alongside her 7 brothers and 2 sisters.

Alice attended Fort Mill HS where she played basketball and was Selected as Fort Mill High School First Black Miss Fort Mill High. She went on to begin a long career working at Lance, located in North Carolina. She retired from Lance in 2008. She also spent her time working with her brother Walter Strait in the school buildings during her time in retirement.

She was Survived by her husband Leon Steele, son Tion Steele, grandchildren Artrel Steele, Artez Steele, Azen Steele, Aubrianna Johnson, Her brothers Walter strait, Nathaniel Barber,
David Barber and Thomas Barber, Her sister Vickie Barnes and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was Preceded by her brother Arthur Barber and her sister Katie Dixon.
