The McClurkin family regrettable announce that Alice Ann McClurkin transitioned from this world on Friday, May 14, 2021 at her home surrounded by family and friends.
Alice Ann was born to the late David and Eva McClurkin in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She was educated in the public schools of Rock Hill and completed her post-secondary education at Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina. Her exemplary career spanned over 46 years in the Chester County School District. She was a devoted member of Flint Hill Baptist Church where she served in numerous organizations. Her services extended into the community where she was affectionately known as “Baby Ann”. She served as Den Mother for Pack and Troop 154. Ann organized and participated in many outreach services that provided support for youth and senior citizens in surrounding areas. Alice Ann was a member of Eta Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and Rose of Sharon Chapter #30 Prince Hall Affiliated Order of the Eastern Star under the Jurisdiction of South Carolina.
Ann leaves to cherish fond memories two sisters Olivette McClurkin, Barbara McClurkin, and two brothers Willie B (Arrelia) McClurkin, Freddie (Regna) McClurkin and a host of relatives and friends.
All services have been entrusted to Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home, 700 Heckle Blvd. Rock Hill, SC. 29730. Please commemorate her life with us at a viewing and visitation on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 between the hours of 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Masks are required for all Face-to-Face services. Visitation will be Thursday May 20 from 12 noon until service at 1:00 pm. Virtual services available at Palmetto Funeral Group - Live | Facebook.
