Alma Bias Coleman, 83, of 159 Sedgewood Drive, formerly of 337 Green Street, departed this life on Friday, April 3, 2009 at Agape Rehab of Rock Hill. A native of Crowley, LA, Mrs. Coleman was born October 7, 1925, a daughter of the late Leona and Inez Harrison Bias. She was retired from Montgomery Ward Clothing Store and of the Methodist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Mitchell Coleman. Surviving are her son Jose Edmonson of Rock Hill; three grandchildren Steve Angel of New York, Tiffany Brown of Rock Hill and Teco Hicks of Rock Hill; also four great grandchildren of Rock Hill; and four children she raised and loved as her own Roxon Flower, Greg Kelly, Steve Franklin and Michael Pass; two very close friends Pearl Welch and Mrs. Ollie Coleman; two brothers John Bias of Beaumont, TX, and Lester Bias of Scott, LA; one sister Rose Jacobs of Crowley, LA; a step-daughter Betty Jean Bryant of Boston, Massachusetts. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00am Thursday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Coleman will be held Thursday at 11:00am in the Chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Crown Memorial Park in Pineville, NC.
