Alvonia Funderburk

Rock Hill- Alvonia Funderburk of the Lesslie Community passed away peacefully May 26, 2015 at Piedmont Medical Center. Born in 1934 to William D. Freeman, Sr. and Julia Ann Coble Freeman, she was a graduate of Rock Hill High School. She had a long career as a bookkeeper at Comer Distributing Company. Alvonia was the widow of Charles Clifton Funderburk, Sr. She is survived by her two sons: Charles (Delores), and Michael (Cathy); three granddaughters: Lori Todd, Carla Canupp, and Amy Crocker and their spouses, as well as seven great-grandchildren, and her sister Mary Godfrey Hill. A visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8 pm at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday at 2pm in the Chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home.
