Amy Marie Downs-Reed

Amy Downs-Reed, age 45, took Jesus' hand and stepped into eternity on Friday, June 7, 2013. She was born in Xenia, Ohio on March 2, 1968 to Thomas Downs and Cheryl Gray (Whitfield). Amy was currently attending Walden University to get her degree in Disaster Management. She was most excited when serving others. Amy was about to go to Oklahoma to assist with the tornado disaster program as she had first hand experience in the Xenia tornado of 1974. Amy will be missed by all the lives she touched as she was always there for anyone who needed her. Amy had a huge heart and was loved by many people. She leaves as her legacy five beautiful children; Stephanie Steele (Matthew), Nicholas Reed, Joshua Reed, Chloe Reed, and Maggie Reed. She is also survived by her father, Tom Downs (Marsha); her mother, Cheryl Gray (Allen); sister, Amber Elaine Tipton (Gerry); her brother, Matthew Downs, and her grandmother, Annalee Whitfield of Beavercreek; several nieces and nephews; Michael Tipton of Honolulu, Hi; Olivia Tipton of Providence RI; Emily Tipton Kline (Justin) of Beavercreek, Ohio; Zachery and Caleb Downs of New York; Chris and Sierra Downs of Fort Mill. A service to celebrate Amy's life will be held 3:00 pm, Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Palmetto Funeral Home, Fort Mill, SC with Nat Siemon, officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at Palmetto Funeral Home.
