AMY GWENDOLYN STORMS Amy Gwendolyn Storms, 47, went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2015 after waging an inspiring battle with cervical cancer. Born in Glens Falls, NY, Amy was the daughter of Raymond and Audrey Storms of Indian Land, SC. A viewing will be held Monday, February 9, 2015, 6-8 PM at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill, SC and a celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, 7:00 PM at the Chapel in Calvary Church, 5801 Pineville-Matthews Road, Charlotte, NC 28226. Amy is survived by her husband, Eric Halter, her parents, Ray and Audrey Storms, her sisters, Annette (Danny) Smith of McConnells, SC, Anita Storms of Rock Hill, SC; nieces Amber Stump, Autumn Poole, Allie Poole, and nephew, Avery Poole and one great niece, Addison Stump. She graduated from Sawyer College of Business, Merrillville, IN and met the requirements for Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Designation from Convention Liaison Council, Washington, D.C. She worked for American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Chicago, IL as Director of Meetings and Conventions. Amy then moved to Florida and was the Director of Sales for Charley's Crab Restaurant, Jupiter, FL; Sales & Service Mangers for Continuing Education, Inc. in St. Petersburg, FL; part-time Office Manager for Little Freddy's Gourmet Foods, Inc. in Clearwater, FL; Office Manager and Research Associate for OMNI Realty Group, Inc.; Event Supervisor & Office Administrator for Delectables Fine Catering, Inc., Palm Harbor, Fl. She then moved to Rock Hill and worked for two years as Manifest Office Manager for Skydive Carolina, Inc., Chester, SC. Amy was a very active volunteer for The Animal Adoption League Rock Hill, SC. She managed multiple private grants designated for animal spay and neuter, troubleshooting phone calls on animal rescue hotline, helped transport animals to/from veterinary appointments and adoption events, conducted pet adoption interviews, home inspections and reference checks, helped foster pets before adoption, as well as fundraising for the organization.
