Andrew Joseph Bacik

Mr. Andrew Bacik; age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family June 6, 2018 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice Community Care, Rock Hill, SC.

Andrew Bacik was born August 3, 1926 in Czechoslovakia to the late Andrew and Susanna Bacik. He came to the United States at the age of two. Andrew raised his family in Cleveland and Youngstown Ohio areas. Andrew and his wife; Mary (nee Ulichnie) were married for 71 years. They relocated to Rock Hill SC in 2014 to live with their daughter and son in law.

Mr. Bacik was a WWII Army Veteran serving his Country in the Philippines. Mr. Bacik was retired from General Motors Fisher Body, Lordstown Plant as a Tool and Die Maker. Andy was an avid coin and stamp collector who also enjoyed spending time working in the yard and flower gardens.

Survivors include his wife Mary, Children; Deacon Dale (Jennifer) Bacik Apollo Beach FL, James (Deborah) Bacik Fort Mill SC, Lorraine Atwood (Thomas)St. Louis MO, Mary Louise Van Driel (Thomas) Sarasota FL, Margaret Blackann (Paul) Rock Hill SC and Alice Tomasko (Thomas) Houston TX. He leaves behind 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Bacik was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Susanna and his brother John.

Visitation will be on June 8, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Palmetto Funeral Home 2049 Carolina Place Drive Fort Mill, SC 29708. Catholic funeral Mass with Military Honors officiated by Fr. John Giuliani, will be held at 11:00 on June 9, 2018 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church; 292 Munn RD. Fort Mill, SC 29715. A reception will immediately follow in the Church Hall. Interment will be private.

The family requests in lieu of flowers to make a donation to the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice Community Care PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731 or their favorite charity. The family would like to thank all the wonderful nurses at Piedmont Medical Center and the staff at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice Community Care who provided excellent compassionate care.
