Ann Denise Zimmer

August 21, 1937 — May 14, 2020

Ann Denise “Ann” Zimmer of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Mahopac, NY & Palm Coast, FL entered into rest on Thursday, May 14, 2020 following a period of declining health.

In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her loving husband, Frederick E. Zimmer.

She leaves a lasting legacy to be cherished by her survivors, sons: Frederick Zimmer and wife, Amy, Stephen Zimmer, Christopher Zimmer and wife Debbie; daughters, Donna Gass and husband, G. David, and Denise Jacobs and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Lauren, Rachel, Chris, Theo, Georgia, Louis, Christopher, Sophia, Luke, and Olivia; great-grandchildren, Rose, Porter, Charlie, and Nicholas.

Ann’s love for her family was unmatched, she continually shared heartfelt memories of them. Her lineage was something she was proud of and wanted to make known. She remained fiercely proud of her children to the end of her life. Despite her many physical ailments and complaints, Ann never lost her sharp mindedness. She would tell stories for hours and seemed to remember every detail from Christmas mornings to summers at the Jersey shore. She loved cooking and always felt it was important for family to come together around the table. She discovered a passion for exercise in the late 70’s. She started by taking some classes and ended many years later as a certified instructor working in many gyms in Putnam and Westchester County. Regardless of where she lived in her later years, she remained a New Yorker at heart throughout her life.

A memorial service will be held at a later date when Ann Denise will be laid to rest with her husband, parents and grandparents in New York. Until that time, the family rests in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved and that their spirits live on in those they’ve left behind.

Palmetto Funeral Home of Fort Mill will be serving the Zimmer family.
