Anne M. Ervin

March 2, 1931 — April 18, 2018

Anne McFadden Ervin, age 87, died peacefully Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Pruitt Health in Rock Hill, SC. Born in Rock Hill the daughter of John Edward McFadden, Sr. And Bertha Williams, she married James Ervin of Fort Mill, SC in 1964. Anne was educated at Winthrop Training School, graduating in 1950, and she was a bank teller for Rock Hill National Bank, now Bank of America, for more than 40 years. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Edward McFadden, Jr.

Anne is survived by her husband, James Ervin, of Fort Mill, her nephew, J. Edward McFadden III (Nancy) of Morganton, NC, and her nieces, Roseanne McFadden Goodson (John) of Charlotte, and Carol McFadden Murphy (Mike) of Snellville, GA. She is also survived by the extended Ervin family and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and many cousins.

Anne was a faithful Christian and taught children's Sunday School for many years at Tirzah ARP church. After marriage, she was an active member of St. John's UMC of Fort Mill, singing in the choir and playing piano. She was also active in the United Methodist Women, a member of the Red Hat Society and the Lioness Club of Fort Mill. Her father taught her to love baseball, and Anne traveled to every major league baseball park in the USA and Canada. She was an avid Charlotte Knights and Atlanta Braves fan, and she became known as the Cookie Lady to the pitchers in the Bull Pen because she brought baked cookies for the players and staff. Anne loved clothes, shopping and chocolate. Her family and friends knew her to have the gift of gab.

A memorial service celebrating Anne's life is planned for 2 PM Monday, April 23, 2018, at St. John's UMC, Fort Mill with Rev. Karen Radcliffe leading the service. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall after the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to St. John's UMC, 130 Tom Hall St., Fort Mill, SC 29715.

The family wishes to acknowledge the loving care provided to Anne during the past 6 years from Carolina Gardens of York and Pruitt Health of Rock Hill.
