Annie B. Marthers

Mrs. Annie B. Marthers, age 76, while surrounded by family and friends, passed away in her home on Friday, May 11, 2012. She was born December 16, 1935 in Fort Mill, to the late Francis S. and Jennie Broom. Annie worked in textiles at the Industrial Mill in Rock Hill and was of the Baptist faith. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Annie is predeceased in death by her husband, James L. Marthers; her parents; siblings, Johnny Broom, Lillian Broom, Sylvia Broom, Barbara Fisher and Pat Brock. Annie is survived by her sons; Dennis Ray Marthers and his wife, Jayne of Catawba, SC and James D. Marthers and his wife, Sherri of Rock Hill, SC; brother, William D. Broom and his wife, Frances of Fort Mill, SC; five grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Palmetto Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 2 PM, Monday, May 14, 2012 at Grandview Memorial Park in Rock Hill, SC with Rev. Carl Williams, officiating.
