Arthur Kelly Coley

February 12, 1960 — July 10, 2018

Rock Hill – Kelly known as K.C. Coley, 58, of 2787 Eden Terrace Ext. , passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Rock Hill, SC.

Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Friday, July 13, 2018, at Greater Life Baptist Church, formerly known as Independent Bible Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC. Burial will be in Pineville Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. and going up until time of services at the church.

Kelly was born on February 12, 1960, in Rock Hill, SC and is the son of John Daniel Coley and the late Martha Louise “GRAN” Coley. In addition to his mother Kelly was preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny Coley and Wayne Coley; and his grandparents, Arthur and Essie Coley and Carl and Carrie McGuirt.

In addition to his father, he is survived by three brothers, Jackson Coley and his wife, Gail of Gastonia, NC, Randy Coley and his wife, Debra of Rock Hill, SC, and Derrick Coley of Melbourne, Fl.; and his baby sister, Sheila Barfield and her husband, Tim of Lancaster, SC; 10 nephews; three nieces; 6 great-nephews; 6 great-nieces; and either a great-nephew or a great-niece that is on the way and will be born very soon.

Kelly was raised and lived in Rock Hill his entire life. He is the fourth of five boys and along with their baby sister they made up the group affectionally known as “The Six Morons” as their mom called them. As a young boy he loved to play baseball, go swimming, fishing, and do all the things his brothers and cousins did. He loved all the family vacations to Florida and later all the trips out West with Dad, Mom, Aunt Shirley, and whoever else happened to be going along with them.

He worked for Celanese for many years and later for the city of Rock Hill. He was a hard working man who would help anyone especially Billy, Corey, Lee and Kent. He has numerous friends and family who love him dearly and will forever miss him.

He had a heart of love as big as the outdoors for his nephews and nieces, but later in life it was his great-nephews and great-nieces that brought him his greatest joy when they visited him. Anyone who knows Kelly, KNOWS THIS, that he loved his Mom and Dad like we all wish we could, with an endless supply of love and an unwavering belief that he had the best parents ever. He devoted his entire life to care for them no matter the cost, even his life.

Memorial donations may be made to Greater Life Baptist Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of his mother and his Hero, Martha Louise Coley.
