Clover, SC - On Saturday, July 14, 2018, Aubrey “Dale” Denton, beloved husband, father, brother, and son, passed away suddenly at 66 at his home in Clover, SC. Dale was born December 30, 1951 to Jack and Jeanette Denton, who preceded him in death in 2010. Dale is survived by his wife, Sarah; his children, Lora, Melissa, and Derek; his stepchildren, Thad and Avery; his grandchildren Lily, Colin, Anthony, and Lorenzo Jr.; and his sister, Linda Mitchell.


A native of Gastonia, Dale served his country proudly in the United States Army stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany. Upon discharge, he attended and graduated from Gaston Community College. Dale was a proud employee of Stocker & Associates and an avid fisherman and antique collector. Always ready with a witty rejoinder and fast to turn strangers into new friends, Dale loved both the meaning and celebration of Christmas. His loved ones will smile in warm remembrance when they hear his favorite Christmas tune, “Blue Christmas”. His love and collections of 1960’s music and memorabilia will be treasured memories and mementos. Dale’s contagious humor and quick smiles will be missed by friends and family alike.


The family will receive guests from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a short memorial service at 7:00 pm on Friday, July 27th at Fort Mill Funeral Home at 120 Massey Street in Fort Mill, SC.
