Aubrey Pitts Richardson Jr.

On July 31st, 2021, Aubrey Pitts “Richie” Richardson Jr., loving husband and father of two children, passed away at age 69.

Aubrey was born on December 31st, 1951 in Florence, AL to Aubrey, Sr. and Dezzie “Mama Jack” (Horton) Richardson. He received his undergraduate and graduate degree from the University of Alabama and worked for various organizations in the international shipping industry.

On September 17th, 1985, he married Joanne (Seydak) Richardson. They raised two children, Aubrey Pitts Richardson, III and Ryan Kaye (Richardson) Dougherty.

Aubrey had a passion for his family and friends. He was a lover of Alabama Football and Harley Davidson Motorcycles, interests he passed along to his two children.

He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.

Aubrey was preceded in death by his father, Aubrey, Sr., and his mother, Dezzie. He is survived by his wife Joanne, his son, Aubrey III (Lindsey), daughter Ryan Kaye (Daniel), granddaughter Addison Grace, his brother Paul Vanderford, sisters Nell Morris and Linda Peacock, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you take a shot of your finest bourbon and yell “Roll Tide!”
