Mr. Banks Cameron Moore, 78, of Indian Land, South Carolina passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Indian Land, South Carolina with the Revs. Ronnie Boone and Shane Moore officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
Born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, Banks was the son of the late Luther Banks (Pete) Moore and Martha Ellen Helms Moore. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and also attended Ebenezer Baptist Church, Lancaster, South Carolina. He was a 1959 graduate of Indian Land High School in Indian Land, South Carolina. He retired from Standard Crankshaft after 43 years of service. Banks also served in the South Carolina Army National Guard 2nd Battalion 263rd Armor Regiment, and was a Life Member of Indian Land Masonic Lodge 414.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth Moore and James Leon Moore, and sisters Mary Ellen Moore Railey and Cornelia Moore Pierce. Banks is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Betty Wellman Moore; his four children, son Lynn C. Moore (Lisa) of Indian Land, daughters Tanya M. Leonhardt (Paula) of Indian Land and Sherry M. Kimbrell (Richard) of Heath Springs, son Jason S. Moore (Teresa) of Indian Land, and his brother, Gary M. Moore (Pat), of Indian Land. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren, Shawn Ervin (Angie), Kasey M. Pangle (Travis), Michael Kimbrell (Erin), Kristen Ervin, Brian Kimbrell, Kevin Kimbrell, Meghan Moore, Andrew Moore, Aimee Moore, and Noah Moore; and eight great grandchildren, Christopher Ervin, Hailey Thomas, Cameron Pangle, Travis Ervin, Madison Kimbrell, Walker Pangle, Madilyn Thomas, and Wyatt Kimbrell.
