Barbara Channell Cardullo

July 7, 1936 — June 26, 2017

Barbara Jo Cook Channell Cardullo of Indian Land, SC went to be with the Lord on Monday, June

26, 2017.

Barbara was born July 7, 1936 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Joseph Bailey Cook and Mary

Lillian Mesimer. She was the oldest of three daughters. Barbara graduated from Classen High

School in 1954. She went on to study at Oklahoma State University where she graduated with a

degree in English and Art in January 1959. While there, she also met her first husband, Jack G.

Channell, who later became a pastor. They were married on September 1, 1957. She taught English

and Art at the high school level in OK, TX, Ohio, and SC. Barbara was called at an early age into

the mission field. Her calling was to serve the church as a pastor's wife for many years,

participating on numerous mission trips all over the world, taught Sunday School teachers how

to teach the bible, worked with teenagers and young adults, counseled students, and in recent

years taught English as a Second Language. Her greatest joy was serving the Lord Jesus in any

way possible. Barbara was blessed to have been loved by two amazing Godly men. She was

married to Jack for 57 years. After Jack went to be with the Lord, God brought into her life

Joseph Cardullo. They were married on April 11, 2015. Barbara loved telling people about Jesus

and God's love, loved to travel and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her

husband Joe, her three children: Stephen Channell, Della Runnels, and Debbie Turner, her three

step-children: Caren Standen, James Cardullo, and Allison Cardullo, 14 grandchildren, and one

great grandchild. Everyone who met Barbara Jo and knew her would say she always had a

smile on her face, was always positive, looked at every trial or situation as a blessing, and never

met a stranger. She was loved by all and will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, the family

would like contributions to be made to: ESL (English Second Language) of First Baptist Church of

Fort Mill: 121 Monroe White Street Fort Mill, SC 29715. Palmetto Funeral Home will be

assisting the family. The Memorial Service will be held at 2pm Saturday, July 8, 2017 at First

Baptist Church of Fort Mill, SC.
