Barbara Kaye Hagler, 75, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away Friday, December 27, 2024. Born January 22, 1949, in Charlotte, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Griff "AG" Hagler and Sarah Madeline Robinson Hagler. Barbara grew up on her family farm in York, South Carolina, where she was an avid horse enthusiast who rode barrel, reining, and cutting horses.
She attended Kings College in Charlotte, and worked as an accounting bookkeeper for various industries until retirement, during which time she cared for both of her elderly parents.
Barbara was also an avid fisherman. In the summers, she could be found on the beach piers of North and South Carolina or traveling offshore with her brother, Captain Drew Hagler. However, Barbara's greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren, whom she helped care for until her passing.
Barbara was a lifelong member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church, where she served time as a Deacon and then as an Elder for the church.
She is survived by her loving son, Andrew Justin Wescott and his wife, Michelle Renee Wescott; grandchildren: Brayden, Colton, Holden & Madeline Wescott; brother, Charles Andrew "Drew" Hagler and his wife, Donna; nephews: Todd Hagler and his wife, Lisa, Jason Waldrop and his wife, Connie, Daniel Teno and his wife, Allison, and Joshua Teno; niece, Brooke Pittman and her husband, Edward; and many more loving cousins, grand nieces and nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. with a service at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, at Bethesda Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Derek Marotta officiating. A burial will follow in the church cemetery.
