Barbara Lynn Pigford (Deal), known to her loved ones as Barbara, peacefully passed away on July 23, 2023, in Fort Mill, South Carolina, at the age of 70. She was born on May 27, 1953, in Matthews, North Carolina, to Jay and Katherine Deal.
Barbara was a woman with a kind and big-hearted nature. She had a deep love for animals and was known for her compassion towards them. Her love extended to children and the elderly, as she always went out of her way to bring joy and comfort to them. Barbara was a thoughtful individual, always considering the needs and feelings of others. Her inner beauty radiated, making her a truly remarkable person.
One of Barbara's passions was her love for Elvis and old movies. She enjoyed immersing herself in the nostalgia of these classic films. Additionally, Barbara had a green thumb and found solace and joy in tending to her garden. She had a natural talent for nurturing plants and watching them flourish.
Barbara's devotion to her family was unwavering. She was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Tim Pigford, and a dedicated mother to her children, Sarah Hedgepeth Howie (Stephen) , Joseph Hedgepeth (Nichole), and Patrick Pigford (Brittany). Barbara's role as a mawmaw brought her immense joy, and she cherished her precious grandchildren, Madison Pigford, Dustin Tant, Nathan Pigford, Abby Hedgepeth, Brayden Hedgepeth, Claire Hedgepeth, Morgan Howie, and Stephen "Bubba" Howie.
Barbara will be deeply missed by her surviving siblings, Elaine Rankin (Deal), Deborah Downing (Deal), and Jimmy Deal. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Katherine Deal, and her grandchild, Jackson Cole Hedgepeth.
A visitation to celebrate Barbara's life will be held on August 26, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at The Phillip T. Glennon Community Center, located at 15083 Molokia Drive, Tega Cay, SC 29708.
Barbara Lynn Pigford will forever be remembered for her beautiful soul, her sense of humor, and her love for Christmas. Her creativity and thoughtfulness touched the lives of those around her, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
