Barbara Joyce Robinson

Barbara Joyce Robinson Loving Mother and Nana Barbara Joyce Robinson of Fort Mill, SC and formerly of Shawnee, KS, passed away April 5, 2013. Born August 24th, 1943, in Kansas City, MO, she graduated in 1961 from Shawnee Mission North High School, Overland Park, KS. Married in 1961 to Ronald Robinson, she worked for TWA as a keypunch programmer. They travelled extensively, their favorite destination being New Zealand. Barbara was passionately devoted to her children. She was a talented seamstress, crafting costumes for Valley View School of Dance. She was also an entrepreneur, operating the Seating Arrangement (Shawnee, KS) where she won design awards and contributed to Designer Show House. Barbara was preceded by her husband, Ronald Robinson and is survived by her children: Scott Robinson, Shawnee KS; Wendy Lockhart, Fort Mill, SC; Rachel Robinson-Cox, Kansas City, KS; and Ashley Duff, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren: Abigail, Andrew,and Austin Lockhart, Desiree Lowe Robinson-Cox, Wesley Duff, brother Phillip Russell of Manhattan, KS, and sister Janet Ingram of Mission, KS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund at Tega Cay Baptist Church, 1875 Gold Hill Road, Fort Mill, SC, 29708 or to St. Jude's Children Hospital. Memorial Service will be 5 pm Tuesday, April 9, Tega Cay Baptist Church. Visitation 4-5pm prior to the service at Tega Cay Baptist Church.
