Barry Allen Leone

A gathering of friends and family for Barry Allen Leone, age 77, will be held from 2-4pm on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place Drive, Fort Mill, South Carolina. A resident of Fort Mill, Barry passed away peacefully at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC with family at his side on October 9, 2024.

The son of Russell Leone and Roberta (Gundlach) Breads, Barry was born on August 5, 1947, in Westfield, NY. He graduated from Westfield High School with the class of 1965. Barry married Norah Brown from Westfield in July 1965 and they had their daughter Allison. Subsequent to a divorce, Barry married Vicki LeBail from Perry, OH in May 1971 and they had three children, Mike, Monica, and Anne-Marie. They shared the next 46 years together until she passed away in December 2017.

Barry began his career as an analytical chemist in 1969 after management at the manufacturing facility he worked at discovered that he had chemistry and math in high school. He continued his career for the next 40 years, advancing from a lab tech to the lab manager, and all without a college degree. Subsequently retiring in Fort Mill, Barry walked his dogs throughout his neighborhood and got to know a little to a lot about most of his neighbors. The Leones were very fortunate to be included in such a wonderful community. Barry also enjoyed watching and feeding the wildlife in the backyard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his younger brother Tom, and his wife Vicki. His children Allison, Mike (Jen), Monica (Dick), and Anne-Marie (Jon), grandchildren Cory (Alaina), Taylor and Madyson, Zach and Andrew, Luca and Eliana, and other surviving friends and family will miss him dearly.
