YORK - Bernice Montgomery Allen, 85, of 922 Sierra Road, died Thursday, May 3, 2012, at her home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 2020 Hillcrest Rd., York, with Rev. Brad Vassey officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park, Hollis Lakes Road. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.

Born in Conway, S.C., she is the daughter of the late Charles Mack and Maggie Ward Montgomery and the widow of Rev. Carl Edward Allen.

She is survived by two daughters, Janet Allen Neely (Jerry) and Cindy Johns (Irvin); three brothers, James Montgomery, C.B. Montgomery, and Bobby Montgomery; two sisters, Mary Roberts and Erline Hewitt; three grandchildren, Amanda Sinclair, Jessica Nicole Johns, and Sarah Ann Johns; and three great-grandchildren, Landon Riley Sinclair, Brayden Heath Sinclair, and Jacob Benjamin Stinke. Bernice is preceded in death by a daughter, Amaryllis Ann Allen; two brothers, Odell Montgomery and Mack Montgomery; and one sister, Edna Edwards.
