Betty Carroll Barker

Betty C. Barker, 78, of 4021 Overlook Road, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the Patrick Hospice House - Hospice and Community Care. A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Barker was born May 16, 1931 a daughter of the late Ellie Franklin and Fannie Carroll. She worked for Celanese for 24 ½ years in the spinning department before working the remainder of her retirement out at the Holiday Inn at Carowinds Blvd. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and loved listening and watching the Bill Gaither Show. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Dale Barker. She leaves behind her son Richard Barker of Statesville, NC; her daughter Lynn Barker of Rock Hill; her beloved best friend David Brooks; five grandchildren and her loving pet Tiny. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30pm Monday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Barker will be held Tuesday at 11:00am at Beth Shiloh Presbyterian Church cemetery with Reverend Alan D. Wolfe officiating.
