Betty Montgomery Caveny

Betty M. Caveny ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Betty Montgomery Caveny, 75, of 2788 West Main Street, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2008, at Piedmont Medical Center. Born August 24, 1932, in York County to the late Avery and Rosa Lee Mangrum Montgomery, Mrs. Caveny was a retired vice-president of Operations and held various banking positions over a 50-year period. She was a member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church, church Elder and Chairwoman of the Worship Committee. She is survived by her husband, Thomas "Mason" Caveny; daughters, Abbie Caveny and Jayne Caveny Reynolds, both of Rock Hill and Julie Caveny Miller of Durham, N.C.; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Otis Montgomery. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethesda Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. Daniel Smoak and Dr. David Bender. Interment will take place at Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home.
