Betty Hood Laplume

Rock Hill – Mrs. Betty Hood LaPlume, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Monday, June 17, 2019, at Laurelwood Cemetery, Rock Hill with the Rev. Barry Dagenhart officiating.
Mrs. LaPlume was a daughter of the late Nelson Eugene Hood and Rachel Eleanor White Hood. She was a graduate of Winthrop University where she earned a BA degree in Education. She taught school in two different states, Florida and South Carolina, over 40 years. After retiring from teaching she continued to help students who needed additional help outside the classroom by tutoring. She was a member of First Associate Reformed Presbyterian.
LaVelda Brewer, Mrs. LaPlume’s caregiver for 22 years, would like to express her appreciation for all the support she has received during this difficult time.
