Betty Jewel Wood

Mrs. Betty Wood age 81, passed away to be with her Lord Thursday April 16, 2015 in Rock Hill, SC at Hospice and Community Care. Born in Fort Mill, SC, a daughter of the late Virgil L Walker and Edna C Walker. Mrs. Wood was once employed at Springs Mill. Mrs. Wood was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and a great friend to many. She was loved and will be missed greatly. Survivors include son John E Woods of Fort Mill. Two granddaughters; Tammy W Steele of Gastonia, NC; Melissa W James of Fort Mill, SC and 6 great grandchildren. Two nephews; Kenneth Walker of Salisbury, MD; Rodney Walker of Odenton, MD and two nieces Janet McMakin of Fort Mill, SC; Glenda McAliskey of Charlotte, NC. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Monday morning April 20 at 10:00am at Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Pl Dr., Fort Mill, SC. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at Palmetto Funeral Home with the Pastor Debbie Dykes officiating and Marvin Godfrey speaking. The family will receive friends following the service at the home of late Mrs. Betty Wood at 1336 Gardendale Rd, Fort Mill, SC 29708. In lieu of sending flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Hospice and Community Care 2275 India Hook Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
