Bob Currence

Rock Hill – Mr. Robert “Bob” Presley Currence, 82, died Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The family will receive friends 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Lighthouse Church, 333 Highway 21 By-Pass, Fort Mill, SC 29715. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church.

A native of Fort Mill, Mr. Currence was a son of the late Howard Presley Currence and Ruth Nivens Currence. He worked at Hoechest Celanese of Rock Hill for 15 years and then he established a bar and tackle business naming it Bob and Marie’s Place, Highway 160, Fort Mill. He was an avid animal lover and especially horses. He loved riding his motorcycle. He will be remembered as a family man who loved his family. He had a big heart to help people in their time of need. He enjoyed old style Bluegrass and Country music.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Anne Currence; three sons, Elbert Williams and his wife, Nancy of Columbia, SC, Larry Williams and his wife, Charlotte of Rock Hill, SC; and Carl Williams and his wife, Pam of Rock Hill; three daughters, Lynn Tollison and her husband, Ron of Indian Land, SC, Sarah Pitts and her husband, Mike of Fort Mill, SC and Charlene Blackwelder and her husband, Donald of Fort Mill, SC; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Junior Currence and Billy Williams; one daughter, Regina Key; two brothers, James Currence and Wardell Currence; two sisters, Martha Ruth McManus, and Sarah Frances Currence.
