Bonnie Funderburk Gibson

Fort Mill – Mrs. Bonnie Funderburk Gibson, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Wayne T Patrick Hospice House.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Westerly Hills Baptist Church with Revs. Randy Devinney and Roger Brown officiating. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery.

A native of Chesterfield County, Mrs. Gibson was a daughter of the late Claude Pittman and Elizabeth Oliver Pittman. She was a member of Westerly Hills Baptist Church. She was retired from Springs Industries. She loved attending the Fort Mill Senior Center at Unity Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed working on word search puzzles. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving are two daughters, Susan Coley (Ricky) of Indian Land and Penny Chapman (Joey) of Fort Mill; a sister, Willie McCorkle of Fort Mill; a brother, Johnny Pittman of Wilmington, NC; a nephew, Gary Pittman (Sheila) of Jefferson, SC; four grandchildren, Steven Coley, Will Chapman, Kevin Coley, and Taylor Chapman; and she was expecting a great-grandson soon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Funderburk; and six brothers, Edward, Robert, Hearld, James, J.W. and Paul; two sisters, Ola Pipkins and Evelyn Knight.
