Bradley Douglas Kam

May 3, 1971 — October 21, 2020

Bradley Douglas Kam, “Brad”, 49, of Tega Cay, SC and formerly of Baltimore, Maryland, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. Brad was born May 3, 1971 in Wilmington, De, son of Ronald and Maria Kam.

Brad leaves a lasting legacy to be cherished by his survivors. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Stacy Fritz, brother-in-law, David John Fritz, his 3 children, Tyler, Emma and Brady Kam, his Aunt and Uncle, Buck and Nanci Denton and his nephews, David, Brendan and Aidan Fritz.

Most important to him was his family and he will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

Brad took all of the roles in his life to heart and he strove to honor, support, guide and most importantly, protect his family.

He was a Southwest Airlines pilot who often experienced life at 30,000 feet.  Whether it be the small towns or big cities that passed beneath his wings, he valued the life of each person who lived there.

Apart from his love of family was his close second love of flying. He was the consummate professional who was a leader within his circle of fellow pilots, an example of honor and integrity to junior pilots, and a kind face and reassuring voice to those who may have been afraid to fly.

Like most who are admired for their accomplishments and stature, he did not achieve such success alone.  Like a diligent craftsman who hones his skill, Brad logged thousands of flight hours to earn his stripes.  His work in the cockpit, though not seen by his many passengers, was a culmination of his dedication and love for what he did, but more importantly, was a testimony of those who have come alongside him over the years.

A Celebration of Life service was held by the family on October 24, 2020 at Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina.

The Kam family will also host A Celebration of Life event in May, 2021 in Baltimore, Maryland.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all the hospice nurses, physicians and staff, his beloved church family and friends for their unwavering compassionate and supportive care that was provided. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
