Ms. Brenda Chapman Howington, a lifelong resident of Fort Mill, SC, passed away on Saturday, August 17th, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Brenda was born on May 25th, 1949 in Rock Hill, SC to the late Hayward Chapman and Kathleen Efird Jackson. She was a lifelong resident of Fort Mill where she attended Fort Mill High School and was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. She held and excelled at many jobs over the years and made coworkers into long-lasting friends. She loved gardening, a good game of Bunko, traveling, and especially beach trips taken with her family each summer. Brenda was loyal to those she loved, and was always doing things for others. She was a great friend and a leader within her circle of close friends. She was, above all, a devoted mother to her three daughters, whom she loved to the fullest and passed on to them her incredible beauty, both inside and out. Her love and devotion further grew as she became TG (the grandmother) to her 8 wonderful grandchildren.
Brenda had the most genuine way about her and left a lasting impression on those she met.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories daughters Eegee Lanum, Brandie Howington, and Brooke Howington-Gaines (Brett), grandchildren L.A. Lanum, Carley Pratt (Zach), Tanner Lanum, Wil Horne (Adena), Cade Carter, Tyler Howington, Jordan Gaines, and Callee Gaines, four great grandchildren, sisters Sherry Smith (Graylon), and Candy Mathis (Sonny), and brother Tully Krimminger (Lorna), as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered as the best Mom, TG, Beba, and Bren and will continue to bring a smile to all as they remember the remarkable woman she was.
The family will receive friends at a visitation on Thursday, August 22nd from 6 to 8 pm at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill, as well as other times at their homes.
A service to honor Brenda will be held on Friday, August 23rd at 2 pm at St. John's United Methodist Church in Fort Mill.
Flowers can be sent to Palmetto Funeral Home, Fort Mill, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to St. John's United Methodist Church, Fort Mill, SC.
