Brenda Faye Weaver Long, 73, of Catawba, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Saturday, September 6, 2014. Born, June 21, 1941, Brenda was the daughter of Harley Weaver and Millie Phillips Weaver, both deceased. A former textile worker, cashier and payroll clerk, Brenda was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Clarence Odell Long and 2 sisters, Myrtle Brown and Helen Ray. She was a member of Roddey Baptist Church, where she served her community and church family as part of the kitchen, AWANA and choir ministries. Surviving to cherish Brenda's memory are her sister, Darlene Sweatt and husband Jerry, of Rock Hill; sons Randy Long and wife Patty, of Norfolk, Va, and Ronnie Long and wife Susie, of Lexington, SC; grandchildren Lydia Lane and husband Paul, Aaron Long, Justin Long and wife, Heather, Sebastian Long and Quenae Long; great-grandchildren Dominic, Daniel, Braelyn and Jensen and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation for friends and family will be Tuesday, September 9, 2014, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home, with a Home-going celebration service Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 2 PM at Roddey Baptist Church, with Pastor Ronnie Helms officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Roddey Baptist Church, Lupus foundation of America or Hospice and Community Care of Rock Hill.
