Brenda Merritt Shellito

Brenda Merritt Shellito, age 75, of Fort Mill, SC passed away peacefully October 25, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born November 30, 1945 in Pageland, SC to Frank and Aleene Delay. Her family soon moved to Fort Mill, where she lived almost all of her life, most recently with her husband of 12 years, Robert Shellito. She had two children with her former husband, Earl T. Merritt, Jr., also of Fort Mill.

Brenda was a member of Westerly Hills Baptist Church in Fort Mill and enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, and spending time with family. An outgoing and caring person, she always found herself in jobs where she could work closely with people, most recently as a sales associate for Walmart in Rock Hill, SC.

Brenda will be remembered by her husband, Robert Wayne Shellito; her son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Julie Merritt of Fort Mill; her daughter and son-in-law, Jenny and Matthew Caveny of Rock Hill. She is also survived by three grandchildren (Abby, Zach, and Nate Merritt); her sister, Lynn Paquette (Stan) of Fort Mill; nephew, Kent Caskey (Julie) of Fort Mill. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and nephew, Eric Todd Caskey.

A visitation will be held October 29, 2021 (Friday) at 1 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. memorial service at Westerly Hills Baptist Church in Fort Mill, SC. An interment will be held immediately following at the Philadelphia United Methodist Cemetery in Fort Mill, SC.
