Buster Eugene Long

February 25, 1930 — July 14, 2011

Mr. Buster Eugene Long, 81, of 2688 Starnes Drive, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011. A native of Rock Hill, Buster was a son of the late Lloyd and Agnes Long. Born on February 25, 1930 he was employed by JP Stevens Industrial for many years, and was a minister for over forty years. He was also a faithful member of York Church of God of Prophecy. In addition to his parents Buster was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Kathaleen Long and his first wife Mary Long. Surviving are his wife Pauline Cope Long; three sons Daniel Long and his wife Johnna of Jacksonville, FL, Michael Long of Vale, NC and Timothy Long and his wife Janet of Rock Hill; five step children Susie Amick, Dessie Martin, Frances Dover, Clyde Cochran, Jr., and Clifford Cochran; two brothers Bill Long of Lesslie and Marion Long of Fort Lawn; two sisters Pauline Workman also of Lesslie and Betty Ballard of the Outer Banks; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends. A service to celebrate the life of Buster will be held Monday at 2:00pm at Harvest Ministries Church of God of Prophecy with Revs. Ted Tinker and Gary Adkins officiating. Interment will follow the service at Laurelwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00pm at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home on Sunday and at other times at the home of Tim Long, 1368 Old Friendship Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730. Memorials in honor of Buster may be made to York Church of God of Prophecy, 26 Wainwright Ave, York, SC 29745.
