Carlyle Elbert Gore Jr (Carl), 68 of Tega Cay SC passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 27th, 2022.
Carl was born in Conway, SC to Marion Manson Long and Carlyle Elbert Gore Sr. on March 17th, 1954. He graduated from his beloved University of Tennessee (go VOLS!) in 1977 with a degree in Transportation. He spent most of his working years alongside his dad running a heavy equipment sales business. In 1986 he married Virginia (Jenny) and adopted her twin boys Christopher and Jonathan, loving and caring for them as they were his own.
He loved his Savior Jesus, Tennessee football, watching his boys play baseball, lunch dates with his beautiful wife at The Diner, Friday visits with his dad, texting with his boys during UT games, and spoiling his six grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He was a constant and grounding presence in the lives of those who loved him, and his absence will be felt.
Carl was preceded in death by his mother Marion, nephew Eric, and his beloved uncle Gene. He is survived by his wife Jenny of 35 years, his father Carlyle Elbert Gore Sr., his adored Stepmother Gwenlo Gore, his siblings Cenith Murray (Mike); Candy Harber; Debbie Maples (Dean); his sons Christopher Gore (Hannah) Jonathan Gore (Lindsay) and cherished grandchildren; Selah, Harper, Bellamy, Judah, Hollis, Isla, all who he loved “bigger than… all the stars”.
A memorial service celebrating his life is scheduled for 3pm on July 2nd, 2022 at Palmetto Funeral Home located at 2049 Carolina Place in Fort Mill. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Pilgrims Inn in Rock Hill SC , a shelter that provides assistance to women and children facing homelessness.
