Carol Louise (Grubbs) Ballard

Carol Louise (Grubbs) Ballard of Chester County, SC went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 15, 2024, at MUSC Health in Lancaster, SC, after an extended illness.

Carol was born on March 28, 1946, in the Karns Community of Knox County, near Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late Oscar Lewis and Mildred (Scarbrough) Grubbs. She was the second of four sisters. She was an active member of Roddey Baptist Church, participating in the nursery, Awana and Bible Schools, as well as serving in the fellowship hall kitchen. Carol enjoyed fishing and hunting as well as working on crafts and gardening.

In addition to her father and mother, Carol was preceded in death by her sisters, Phyllis Ann Kelton and Susan Nannet Ross.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Bobby D. "Bob" Ballard, of the home; sister, Linda Bjelland (Elmer),  of Rockwood, TN; step-father, Rock Wiles, of Winnsboro, SC; children, Paul Voth (Carol) of Lake Stevens, WA, Jenny Lynn Trull (Jon) of Monroe, NC, Tanda Culleton (Harvy) of Denton, NC, and Britt Ballard of Nashville, TN; her spiritually adopted daughters including Gerri Lynn Hargrove (Cameron); special nephew Gary Harris, of Sumter, SC and grand-niece, Jennifer Lynn Harris; along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends 1:00 pm Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Roddy Baptist Church. A celebration of Carol's life will follow at 2:00  pm at the church.
