Carol Auclair Daly

December 13, 1946 — March 3, 2024

Carol Auclair Daly of Rock Hill, SC passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 3, 2024 after battling cancer for the past two years. She will be remembered for the fierce love she showed her family, and for her religious devotion.

A funeral mass and Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, April 2 at 1:00 pm at All Saints Catholic Church in Lake Wylie, SC.  Rev Timothy Daly will officiate.

Carol was born in Taunton, Massachusetts to Raymond and Virginia Auclair. As a teenager, Carol relocated with her family to St. Petersburg, Florida where she attended St. Petersburg High School.  It was here, at a church gathering, that she met the love of her life, Michael T. Daly.  They married at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, and began to raise their family.

In the late 70s, the Daly family relocated and called many places home over the years including communities in Delaware, Virginia, and North Carolina, finally settling in South Carolina. Carol made friends easily with each move as she regularly organized neighborhood and civic activities and volunteered for school functions. She truly treasured those relationships and carried them with her throughout her life.

In addition to raising four children, Carol enjoyed creative writing, studying her genealogy, and staying in touch with long-distance friends and family. She had many careers where she used her talents to run small retail businesses, non-profit agencies, and a business geared to helping other small companies with their web design and business communications.  She retired in 2018 from her position as Business Consultant at the Winthrop Region Small Business Development Center

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and by her beloved husband of 52 years, Michael T. Daly. She is survived by her four children, Susan V. Daly of Rock Hill, Colleen M. Daly Dick (with husband Darren Dick) of Rock Hill, Michael Joseph Daly of Charlotte, and Ryan M. Daly (with wife Chelsea Daly) of Clover, SC. Carol also leaves two grandsons, Ryan Michael Daly Jr, and Merik L. Daly of Clover, SC; as well as her own siblings, Raymond Auclair and wife Vicki, Anita Tefft and husband Mike, and Bill Auclair and wife Nancy. She was incredibly proud of her family and loved them all dearly.
