We sent This picture because its a picture of her with both halves of her heart. She loved most everyone she met; but these 2 grand kids most of all. Easily the most generous person I have ever known. If she weren't My mother, I would want her to be. That old saying they broke the mold when they made her is true. I think in her case she broke the mold herself, because she wanted to get out and start helping people. She worked 2 jobs; and never saved any of the money. It all went to others. She gave every bit of herself, time and money to others and kept nothing for herself. Every weekend she was on the road looking for bargains and clearance racks, just to give other people random presents. As a person, she is someone we all should try to emulate. Anyone who knew her would quickly agree. Anyone who didn't know her, really missed out.
She was interested in all manner of things. Mostly Nature oriented as she never really used much technology, except memory cards! She loved taking pictures. Before memory cards were invented she would have several rolls of film always waiting to be developed. We still find some old 35 millimeter canisters laying hidden in nooks and crannies. Most often she would be seen with her hands in a flower bed, or on a bird feeder. But when there was yard work to be done she was quick to grab a tool and help; or a pool net as the case may be. Her favorite bird was a hummingbird. Until she saw a woodpecker drinking from the hummingbird feeder, and she thought that was the most amazing thing. At least until she got actual blue bird eggs in her blue bird box out back. When a squirrel moved in to take over the bird feeder she had just built, we wanted to shoot the squirrel. Instead, the next day there was a shiny new squirrel feeder hanging up. This was her approach to everything. Her best advice was just live your life as a good person and everything will be fine. As a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, and Friend she will be sorely and deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband, Robert "Dink" Keesee; a son, Danny Cook and wife Tabitha; Three brothers, Butch Kimbrell, Finley Kimbrell and wife Linda, and Henry "Lump" Kimbrell; her sister, Ethel Kay Williams and husband Jimmy; and two grandchildren, Oceana Ruby Cook and Drake Remiel Cook.
The family will receive friends Monday, from 6-8 PM, at 3053 Ogden Road, Rock Hill, and also Tuesday, an hour before the service at the church.
Whitesell Funeral Home is serving the Keesee family.
