Carroll Rudolph Gilreath Ii

February 29, 1952 — February 2, 2022

Fort Mill

Carroll “Scott” Gilreath, 69, passed away at Atrium Pineville after extended illness. Scott was born in Greenville, SC to Carroll and Lib Gilreath. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Becky, his children, Zach and Zoe, Daughter in Law, Kimberly, Grandson, Grant, and his cat companions, Ajax and Freckles.*

Scott was a loving husband, father, and friend.  He had an infectious personality and thrived to light up any room he entered.  He enjoyed traveling with Becky to visit his children as often as possible.  He spoke to his children daily and provided them with an outlet to discuss their successes and the difficulties of life.  He had recently become a grandpa and was enjoying that role more than any other.

He was an avid fan of the University of North Carolina and the Carolina Panthers, though he wasn’t always an optimist when it came to gamedays.  In recent years, Scott became Santa Scott, sharing the joy of the season with children and families across the country.  For his family, Thanksgivings and Christmases will never be the same.

Though he is sorely missed, his family takes solace in the fact that he is now happily reunited with his parents, sister (Dede), and his Saint Bernards, Goliath and Macy.

Details on a memorial will be shared with close family and friends.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating on Santa Scott’s behalf to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.

*Scott is estranged by a daughter, Jessica, and grandson, Trey, who were both very loved.

Palmetto Funeral and Cremation Services is proudly serving the family of Mr. Carroll "Scott" Gilreath.
