Cecil Coolidge Boatwright

Cecil Coolidge Boatwright, 91 of Rock Hill, S.C. passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Park Point Village in Rock Hill. A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Boatwright will be held at 2:00pm, September 6, 2015 at Bethel United Methodist Church on Curtis Street, Rock Hill with Reverend Emily Sutton officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 at the Beckham Memorial Building at Bethel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow the service at Grandview Memorial Park in Rock Hill. Mr. Boatwright was born July 15, 1924 in Chesterfield County and was the son of the late David A. Boatwright and Martha Hammonds Boatwright. Mr. Boatwright was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Nancy Elizabeth Lynn Boatwright and his brother, Carl D. Boatwright and sister, Gertrude Boatwright Autry. Mr. Boatwright is survived by his brother, Wayland D. Boatwright (Doris) and his two daughters, Cecilia Strickland (Harold) of Rock Hill and Jeannie Adams (Lynn) of York. Mr. Boatwright has 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Mr. Boatwright served in the US Navy during World War II. He worked in textiles including Springs and RHPF Companies until he finished dental training. He worked as a dental technician in dental labs in N.C. and S.C. until his retirement from Sherer's Dental Lab in 1989. Mr. Boatwright was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where he was Superintendent of Sunday School and served on various committees including Finance, Building and Pastoral Relations.
