Cecil Patrick Lee

August 23, 1916 — March 14, 2014

Cecil Patrick Lee, 97, of Clinton, SC passed away Friday, March 14, 2014 at Clinton Presbyterian Community, Clinton, SC where he had been a resident for 23 years. Born in Union, SC, and raised in Great Falls, Mr. Lee was a son of the late Lula Love and Asa B. Lee, Sr. He was a graduate of Great Falls High School and he was an Eagle Scout. He was retired from Ashe Brick Co. of Van Wyck. Mr. Lee was an avid fisherman and whittler of walking sticks. He was known by many as the Presbyterian Home's "Cane Man". He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Clinton and former member of Van Wyck Presbyterian Church. He was also a World War II veteran and was recently inducted into the Laurens County Veterans "Hall of Heroes". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Jean Shillinglaw Lee; his sister, Mary Lee Paschal; and his brother, A.B. Lee, Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Lee Moore (Gary) of Indian Land, and Karen Lee Quinn (Rusti) of York; his sisters, Wynona L. Kursch and Ruth L. Higgins; his grandsons, Stuart Moore (Amanda), Shane Moore (Ashley), Justin Quinn (Brandie), Nathan Quinn (Amy), Philip Quinn (Jessica), and Josh Quinn (Jessica); and 12 great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Lee will be held 2pm Monday, March 17, 2014 in the chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Lambert and Rev. Randy McSpadden officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Presbyterian Community of South Carolina or to Southern Care Hospice of Greenville.
