Charles Leon Evans

Charles Leon Evans of Fort Mill, South Carolina, passed away on March 8, 2017. He was born in Danville, Virginia, on July 20th, 1938, to the late Hallie Tillman Evans and Bruce Evans. Charles was a retired technical specialist from the textile industry. After retirement he stayed busy with his wife Winnie, his dog Etta, and his eight grandchildren whom he loved dearly; Will Evans, Rebecca Evans, Jackson Sambuco, Anna-Kate Sambuco, Graham Evans, Brayden Evans, Crystal Evans and Lori Henderson.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Winnie; his sons Leon, Dwayne and Eddie Evans; his daughter Kathy Evans Sambuco and husband Brian; his brother Robert Evans and wife Phyllis. He was preceded in death by his siblings Tillman, Leroy and Joyce.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on at 11am on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Palmetto Funeral Home with the Reverend Mike Short officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and other times at his home.
