Charles A Love

July 6, 1971 — March 19, 2015

Calling The Humorous

At 6:27 on March 19th, 2015 at Piedmont Medical Center of Rock Hill South Carolina, Heaven gained a new angel. Charles A Love, a “mommy’s boy”, age 43 and current resident of Rock Hill South Carolina, was called home to join his mother Lois Love and father Max Love.

Leaving behind family members that consist of: two sisters Rita Smart of Rock Hill SC, and Charity Barfield of Wildwood FLA, three nieces Doris Knight and her two children, and Cassady Smart of Rock Hill SC, and Victoria Campbell and her three daughters of Fruitland Park FLA, and two nephews Douglas Smart of Weirsdale FLA, and James “Jimmy” Barfield of Lady Lake FLA and multiple cousins un-named.

Though the family and friends mourn his passing, his legacy lives on. Charles, often known as Chuck, Chuckie, Chucklez, Boss Man, Brother, Uncle Buck, UB and so many others, laid footprints in so many hearts. From his height of 5-07, baldhead, harry potter glasses, infectious bellowing laugh and his chunky outer appearance; every bit of him was known to spread Joy, Laughter, Peace, Love, and Amazing memories. Though not looking like your average hero, Charles could rank as “The Amazing Charles” to many, but would prefer to be ranked as “Goofy”, “Eeyore”, “Bear”, “Baloo”, and so many others; simply because instead of being a “Marvel”, He’d rather be one of funny character and a loving heart.

Charles worked at Walt Disney World for 14 years; from the awkward outfits, to the long sweaty days, many enjoyed that double fingered point to direct traffic, and the famous “Bye, Have A Good Night Folks” departure he would give to many at the end of each night in the park. Alongside the Disney life, Charles also enjoyed the relaxing days full of laughter with good friends, and love shared between family, a good cigar, music and a good hockey game die-hard fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning and a love for Ohio State Buckeyes.

He didn’t exactly live your fairy tale life often displayed to you by Disney, or a completely Heroic life depicted by marvel by swooping in and saving the day; instead he planted “Pixie Dust” among all kinds of people he crossed paths with and saved anyone’s day by providing hope, love, laughter and good listening ears. At the age of 6 he told us he remembers telling his DeeDee that he wanted to live in the big castle at Disney, not knowing that later in his life he would work the park to help provide dreams to all kinds of individuals big and small. He was one that loved life no matter what it swung his way, and was very thankful for all that he had no matter what else he could possibly have. You see to all of his friends, family, co-workers etc. he was a heroic character and to him that meant he had done his life justice living up to Walt Disney’s famous words “That’s the problem with the world, too many people grow up”.

On Thursday March 19th his family took him off life support and let go of the big ball of love he was. Although it may hurt, Heaven needs one with his bubbly character and cheer, but most importantly welcome to the big castle in the sky Charles. “When God needs an angel he creates one, When God needs a warrior he brings one home.” Instead of the usual funeral his family decided to have a celebration of life to be announced at a later date for all of his friends and family to join.
