Charles Winston Patterson

Charles Winston Patterson, 20, of Fort Mill went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 10, 2020.

Charles was born on December 24, 1999 in Jacksonville, FL to Lee Charles Patterson and Heather Lynn Shelton Patterson. He was a graduate of Fort Mill High School. Charles had a passion for the outdoors; he enjoyed fishing the creeks, rivers and lakes of the piedmont and the mountains. He also had a love for music, both creating and listening; Charles was a loyal friend to many and he will be missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Charles Whiting Patterson III and maternal grandmother Mary Sue Shelton.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents Lee and Heather Patterson of Fort Mill, paternal grandmother Eleanor Wood Patterson of Greensboro, NC, maternal grandfather Jerry Winston Shelton and wife Carole Jean (CJ) Shelton of Lawton, OK, maternal aunts and uncles; Aundrea Lillard and husband Todd of Cartersville, GA, Tami Dirickson, Rodney Dirickson and wife Yvonne, and Terry Dirickson all of Lawton, OK, paternal uncle; Jay Wood Patterson of Hillsborough, NC, Paternal aunt; Gray Patterson Boone and husband Dereck of Wilmington, NC. Also surviving are cousins, Mia, Brandon, Cooper, Hannah, Myles, Ella, Sarah, Shelton, Rachel, Madison and Payton.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Palmetto Funeral Home, Fort Mill. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Palmetto Funeral Home. A private interment ceremony will be held by the family.

Those who may not be able to attend can still be a part of the services by liking and following the Palmetto Funeral Group Facebook page where the service will be live streamed on Sunday at 1:00 PM.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all of the emergency service agencies that assisted the family and the York County Coroners office for the support and compassion shown to them during this difficult time.
