Charles Frederick Schroeder

Rock Hill – Mr. Charles Fredrick Schroeder a.k.a “Yank” or “Sir Charles”, 78, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at his home.

Born in Cologne, MN Mr. Schroeder was a son of the late Herbert Schroeder and Armella Willems Schroeder. He was retired from General Tire and was also a retired veteran of the U.S. Army. After retiring from General Tire he became a long distance truck driver for 20+ years. He loved the Lord deeply. He will be remembered as a practical joker and for his wonderful cakes that he made. He enjoyed gardening and was a bee keeper. He was always a very generous person. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather.

Surviving are his son, Scott Schroeder (Tracy); a daughter, Tammi Hafner (Rieck); a brother, Alan Schroeder; two sisters, Dianne Thoele and Ruth Ann Jorgenson; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Pearl Rollins. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Sue Schroeder; a brother, Bill Schroeder; a granddaughter, Samantha Dawn Schroeder; and a great-granddaughter, Lillian Leigh Grace Schroeder.


A "Celebration of Life" will be held from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Providence Baptist Church at 1947 Old Friendship Road in Rock Hill, SC 29730.
