Charles Wayne Soles

Rock Hill - Mr. Charles Wayne Soles, 66, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at White Oak Manor of Rock Hill.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Shield of Faith Family Church, 2499 Fire Tower Road, Rock Hill, SC, with Drs. Larry and Kathy Soles officiating. The family will receive friends 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be Monday, January 20, 2014, at Oak Dale Baptist Church in Loris SC.

Charlie was born June 30, 1947 in Tabor City NC and was a son of the late Rev. Elder McCoy Soles and Genevieve Jackson Soles. He was an iron worker with construction most of his life. Charlie graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1966 where he was captain of the varsity basketball team. He had a love for cooking and a compassion for his family and friends and loved to give to anyone in need.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Danny McCoy Soles. Charlie is survived by a son, Charlie Wayne Soles (Debbie); two grandchildren, Jacob and Kristy Soles; his very loving and good friend and companion, Kathy Mangum; a brother, Larry Dale Soles (Kathy); a sister, Wanda Leonhardt; and many nieces and nephews.

Our family would like to thank the staff of White Oak Manor of Rock Hill for the loving care they gave Charlie. Especially to Ieash, Kristine, Jean, Bobbie, Shannon, Kim, T., McKayla, Clerese, Sandra and Sue.

Charlie had a massive stroke June 20, 2012. Memorials may be made to Shield of Faith Family Church or Hospice and Community Care, PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731.
