Charles Henry Wilson

Rock Hill - Mr. Charles Wilson, 93, of Rock Hill, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Brookdale Spring Arbor surrounded by his loving family.

The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Whitesell Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Dr. Carl Morton officiating.

Mr. Wilson was born May 23, 1924, in Newberry, SC and was a son of the late John Henry Lee Wilson and Marie DeHihns Wilson. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was an avid fisherman, bowler, and golfer. He was also a HAM Radio operator.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Jean Bishop Wilson; two sons, Johnny Wilson (Karol) and Andy Wilson (Jennifer); two daughters, Jean Marie Burkhamer (Kevin) and Sue Ellen Smith; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Horton and Byrdie Rodgers.
