Claire Margaret Caricari

Claire Margaret Caricari, 82, of Rock Hill, SC, passed away on March 18, 2025. She was born on April 12, 1942, in Teaneck, NJ, to the late William and Veronica Relihan. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank Caricari, and her siblings Harold Scheideler, Andy Scheideler, Vera Gorman, and Helen Weglarz.

Claire is survived by her loving sons, Frank (Rosemary) and Tony (Debbie); her cherished grandsons, Shane (Kelly), Austin (Michayla), and Chris (Chrishana); and her adored great-grandchildren, Matthew, Benson, Greyson, Brayden, and Melanie Claire. She also leaves behind many dear friends, including her lunch, dominoes, bunco, and coffee companions, as well as her trivia group, Low Expectations, who will forever cherish her memory.

Career & Life
Claire dedicated 30 years of service to the Lakewood, NJ, school district as a school secretary, spending her final 20 years working with the athletic director at Lakewood High School.

Raised in Ridgefield Park, NJ, she moved with her family to Jackson, NJ, in 1974. Claire never met a stranger—she could strike up a conversation with anyone. A devoted animal lover, she cared deeply for her pets over the years, most recently for Yogi and Dory. Claire was a generous supporter of several organizations, including Transformation Church 521, The Oratory in Rock Hill, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the Humane Society. She was also a passionate college football fan, spending her Saturdays cheering for her beloved South Carolina Gamecocks and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Riverview Hospice team for their love, care, and dedication over the past three months. Their kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.

Service Information
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill, SC, beginning at 12:30 PM, followed by a memorial service at 1:30 PM.

Claire’s warmth, generosity, and love for life will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew her.
