Catawba, S.C. - Mrs. Colleen Rosalee Tate Wooten, 72, died Saturday, June 26, 2010.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Wednesday, at Whitesell Funeral Home with burial in Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Filbert, S.C.. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service.
Born February 7, 1938, Mrs. Cline was a daughter of the late Richard "Hubert" Melton Wooten and Pearl Gladys Wooten. Colleen, "Granny", as many of us called her, had given her life to the Lord and was baptized on June 6, 2010, by Pastor Greg Neely. This is where we will all draw our comfort and peace. The Lord has called her home. She was a loving mother, granny and friend. She had many adversities come her way and fought back with her spunk and beautiful smile. We shall miss her greatly and find peace, knowing she is with our Lord, Jesus Christ in Heaven.
Surviving are two loving children, James "Jimmy" Avery Tate and his wife, Teena Foster Emory Tate and Barbara Ann Barely and her husband Michael "Mike" Clinton Barley (Barbara was her caretaker till the Lord called her home); six grandchildren, the loves of her life, Jimmy "Dino" Holland and his wife Becky, Ronald "Dale" Holland, James "Jamie" Avery Tate, Jr., Lisa Marie O'Daniel and her fiancé Johnny Barnes, Ashley "Nikki" Nicole Hackler, and Angela "Angel" Marie Tate; two step grandchildren, Elaine Barnes and Shawn Barnes; ten great grandchildren, Taylor Madison O'Daniel, Hayleigh Lynn Holland, Ethan Lucas Hackler, Hunter Kyle Howington, Alexis Elizabeth Ann Holland, Lacey Love Tate, Emma Amiah Howington, Keegan Aubry Nathaniel Tate, Liam Caleb Avery Tate, Kylie Nicole Lucas, and one grandchild to arrive November 24th. She is also survived by very special loving nieces Sandra Tilson and her husband Wink Tilson, Amy Wooten and Kerri Barnum; nephews, Eddie, Keith, Stevie Crook, "Doodle" Ronnie, Randy, Ricky Wooten, Barry, Shane, Seay, Keither Barnum, Jamie, and Mark Wooten. Family and friends: Bobby and Kay Tate, James and Sandra Barley, "Pop" Mike and Lynn Blackwell, Edwin Crook, Barbara Wooten, Jimmy, Shelia, Tyler White, David, Leslie, Justin Adams, Edward, Tonya Husky, Cody, Kaylee Medlin, "Bennie" Wayne and Mary May, April and Scott, Bianrica, Peggie Jenkins, Lori Hollingsworth, Nancy and Jamie Morton, Brandy, Isaiah, Shakira, Kennith Smith, Christine Cline, Bobby Vassey, Barbara May, Barbara Jean, Brenda Emory, The Walkers, and The Williams. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Reggie Wooten and Ronnie Wooten, and two sisters, Sue Crook and Sally Barnum.
